XETA Setup: "Please Check Your Internet Connection" Error

Problem: During XG7 setup, you see "Please check your internet connection" and the NEXT button is grayed out.

Solution: This is a simple connectivity issue that can be resolved in a few quick steps.

Quick Fix Steps

1. Check Your Connections Ensure the WAN port on your XG7 is connected to a LAN port on your ISP's modem or router.

2. Power Cycle Both Devices

  • Unplug your ISP modem/router for 10 seconds, then plug it back in
  • Unplug your XG7 for 10 seconds, then plug it back in
  • Wait 2-3 minutes for the connection to establish (this is normal during initial setup ... Be Patient!)

3. Verify Your Setup Most connections work automatically, but if you're still having issues:

  • Standard Setup: Your XG7 should connect automatically if your ISP provides automatic IP addresses (DHCP)
  • Bridge Mode: If your ISP modem is in bridge mode, contact your ISP to confirm the correct configuration settings
  • Static IP: If your ISP provides static IP addresses, you'll need your ISP's configuration details
